About
MASSACHUSETTS FALLEN HEROES
As a group of Combat Veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan, we are committed to memorializing our fellow service members who did not return home to their families. So far, we’ve raised funds, created a first-of-its-kind memorial, developed the Veteran’s Edge program to assist Veterans, and created a network of support and programs for our Gold Star Families.
Our four main goals are to:
In 2013 we teamed with Seaport Square developer John Hynes, Hacin + Associates, Boston Global Investors, WS Development and designer James Carpenter and Reed Hilderbrand (Landscape Architect) to design, construct, and dedicate the Official State Memorial of the Commonwealth. On May 27th, 2016 we dedicated our 50 foot Beacon Of Honor in the South Boston Seaport District to those who gave their lives fighting for our freedom since September 11, 2001.
At Massachusetts Fallen Heroes, building a permanent memorial was just the beginning. We sought to foster the community of Gold Star Families, because as a Veteran run organization, we are committed to the creed “If I don’t make it home, please make sure that you take care of my family.” We help foster relationships with our Gold Star Families by providing support from the moment of notification through anniversaries. We provide programs, events, and services to create a family among the diverse Gold Star community. We aim to provide support and comfort to those who have suffered the same unique loss.
Veteran’s Edge was created to help Veterans, Active Duty military personnel, the National Guard, Reservists, Spouses, and Gold Star Families. Each member of this community with a need will be serviced and empowered to successfully improve their current condition. We provide employment support, legal services, healthcare services, housing services, education, and legislative lobbying.
