Followed by Candlelight Procession to Massachusetts Fallen Heroes Memorial
“Honor, Hope, Healing”
These are the simple words that describe the journey of America’s Gold Star Families – our friends and neighbors who live, every day, with the cherished memory of a loved one who served in our military and who never came home. Take a short walk from our beautiful shrine and you will find the Massachusetts Fallen Heroes Memorial, a sacred place that honors the sons and daughters, husbands and wives, sisters and brothers who, since September 11, 2001, have given their lives in service to our country.
This year our country will commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Witnessing the unfolding chaos in the aftermath of the withdrawal of our troops from Afghanistan reawakens, for many veterans and gold star families, the emotional and spiritual pain of war and loss.
Since 2017, we have stood shoulder to shoulder with veterans and Gold Star families on the anniversary of that terrible day. We have gathered together in prayer at our Shrine to honor those lost. We have carried candles and walked in procession down Seaport Blvd. to the Fallen Heroes Memorial as an expression of our solidarity with them and our gratitude for their sacrifice. This year, more than ever, let us stand with them and keep our promise to never forget. And may our presence be our gift of hope and healing.
